This 2021 Clos de la Roche, 100% organic Pinot Noir, grows on an east-facing slope just outside Morey-Saint-Denis. Its clay-limestone soil gives it a beautiful, almost stony minerality, with a touch some describe as a slight flint scent. Aged for 18 months in oak barrels (half new), it starts off a little reserved, but gains complexity over time, revealing notes of bramble, freshness, and a beautiful, yet restrained elegance.
