Made from Chardonnay grown on steeply sloping siliceous-limestone marl, this Grand Cru is aged for 12 months in barrels (30% of which are new). It combines the power of the old vines with the finesse of the younger ones, and develops a mineral and concentrated expression, designed for long aging.

Wine profile

The opinion of sommelier David Biraud

The opinion of sommelier David Biraud
For lovers of Burgundy and its Pinot Noir, this 2022 Bourgogne Cote d'Or appellation from Domaine Chicotot offers a beautiful expression of Burgundian Pinot Noir at its most delicious and immediately seductive. In the glass, the clear ruby color with garnet reflections announces a straightforward and brilliant wine, already expressive. The nose confirms this impression of generosity. Tart red fruits immediately assert themselves: crisp cherry, fresh raspberry, redcurrant. This aromatic ensemble is carried by a light and airy floral touch that brings elegance and delicacy to the whole. The maturity of the vintage is felt, but without ever weighing down the message: the fruit is juicy, ripe, expressive, maintained in a register of freshness and pleasure that invites indulgence. On the palate, the attack is frank and fleshy, true to the olfactory promises. The body is quite present, generous, built by the beautiful maturity of 2022, without sacrificing the freshness that runs through the tasting from start to finish. On the finish, a slight hint of bitterness is still a little perceptible, which needs to blend and integrate with time. It does not alter the pleasure but invites a few more months of patience for those who want a perfect melt or beautiful food and wine pairings. This Bourgogne Côte d'Or from Domaine Chicotot is, above all, a tender wine, ready to drink, conceived in a register of pleasure and assumed indulgence. It will be appreciated at the table from today. A great opportunity to cellar these Pinot Noirs from Domaine Chicotot, so accessible in their youth.
