Located north of Volnay, in the immediate vicinity of the Pommard Jarolières, this 1er Cru Fremiets expresses a beautiful influence from the iron-rich red soils. The color is bright, ruby, intense, with great clarity, yet it is charming. The aromas develop and intertwine: tart red fruits, strawberry jelly, cooked cherry, the distinguished smoky notes from precise aging which highlight the ripeness of fresh fruit. It's well-opened and ready to be tasted; the Pinot is definitely there, delicate and collecting the aromas of floral notes and fresh fruit. Aged with 20% new barrels and 100% destemmed grapes, it offers a firm structure and beautiful freshness. This 2018 vintage is well-balanced, round, and the material has been perfectly mastered here. The result is a harmonious wine, ready to be tasted. What a delight!
